Aerotek Welder And Fabricator in Phoenix, Arizona

Aerotek, rated best of staffing, is hiring welders and fabricators in Phoenix, AZ !

Structural welder working on large mining machines. Welders will be working inside of a large bay (swamp cooled) repairing huge mining excavators. Welders will repair structural flaws in equipment that happen through normal wear and tear of equipment use. Will be welding AR400 and AR500 steel one day and softer steel the next day. Could spend time gouging out welds. Will be using fabricating skills on a daily basis, reading prints and shop drawings and expected to communicate well with peers and supervisors. Experience with flux core dual shield wire required. .332 wire experience is a plus. Welders will be expected to do tasks that are not strictly welding. They will be cleaning up the shop, cutting steel, heating steel, grinding weld and of course welding.'

Shift:

  • You will be working 72 hours a week in this role - lots of overtime opportunity

  • Local - First shift 6am to 6pm $26.50/hr

  • Local - Second shift 4pm to 4am $28/hr

Location : 50th Ave and Lower Buckeye

Weld Test –

  • 3G weld on 5/8” thick plates

  • 4G Overhead weld on 5/8” thick plates

  • MIG/Flux core Process

Top Skills:

• Structural Welding - Not welding on structural beams but welding on thick gauged hardened steel that translates from structural really well

• Oxy Acetylene Torch - Cutting steel with Oxy torch

• Fabricating - Will be cutting, bending, some fitting and grinding material daily

• Print reading - Ability to ready blueprints and shop schematic drawings

• Welding on mining equipment previously.

• 3-5 years in structural welding

• experience with AR 400-600 steel (hardened steel)
