Emergency Medical Services Leader

The EMS Leader implements and oversees ongoing Emergency Medical Service (EMS) programs for Scheurer Health, with the primary purpose of making available quality pre-hospital care for the designated geographical area. This role provides operational, clinical and administrative management to the EMS Department.

Responsibilities

• Day to day operations of the EMS department providing leadership to Scheurer's EMS staff
• Completing and managing payroll, staff scheduling and annual performance reviews
• Organizing ongoing staff education and working clinically
• Business planning, budget development and following EMS professional standards all while maintaining compliance in both state and federal regulatory requirements
• Mentor staff for both personal and professional growth
• Must be able to foster excellent community relationships with our local EMS community

Requirements

• Paramedic Licensure with the State of Michigan with demonstrated effective leadership experience
• Formal Training and/or education in a specialty or related specialty beyond the high school level
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association
• Four years of experience in the field, two years of progressive supervisory experience
• Strong customer service and relationship building skills
• Knoledge of State and National EMS statues required
• All licenses and certifications must remain active
• Flexibility in work schedule, unusual hours, shift work, nights, holidays, and weekends
