Scheurer, a critical access rural hospital, is seeking a registered nurse to work as a casual employee in the Emergency Department.  The Emergency Room RN is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care for all patient populations presenting to the emergency room.

Responsibilities

• Effectively and efficiently triage incoming patients based on the level of injury and severity with the ability to stabilize and provide appropriate treatment measures to promote hemodynamic stability.  Recognize and activate all appropriate activations and medical emergencies.
• Maintaining clinical competence while providing comprehensive patient care for all patient populations utilizing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of the nursing process; utilizing evidence-based practices to guide decisions.
• Maintain clinical competence for all patient populations for interfacility transfers.  Working with members of the ambulance team.
• Ensure documentation is complete and accurate to meet the clinical quality measures, stroke, trauma, and medical emergency activation requirements under the guidance of the accreditation regulations.
• Maintain security measures and HIPPA to ensure patients' information is secure, private, and confidential.
• Delegates appropriately to members of the team.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, possesses a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

• Current BLS from the American Heart Association.

• Possess or willing to obtain the following certifications within one year of start date:

• • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nuse Core Curriculum (TNCC)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

• All licenses and certifications must remain active.

• 1-2 years of hospital emergency room experience required.
