Posting Summary
Rutgers is seeking a Administrative Assistant for the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology within the School of Public Health, located in Piscataway, NJ. Performs a wide variety of confidential administrative and support services to the Chair and Faculty withinthe department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. Assists in the planning and support of program activities.Duties include:
  • Performs a wide variety of typing assignments, including correspondence and reports.
  • Maintains assigned faculty member's appointment calendars, establishing priorities and scheduling appointments at own discretion.
  • Works in collaboration with the Executive Assistant to the Chair as a contact between the faculty and other offices, vendors (internal and external), institutions, agencies, on a wide range of items.
  • Provides coverage when the Executive Assistant to the Chair is out of the office.
  • Works closely with Student Affairs to organize departmental components of Open House and Orientation events.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Associate's Degree plus two (2) years of administrative/secretarial experience.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
  • Must also be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BANNER System, PeopleSoft and Marketplace experience preferred
