Eurofins CRL has been an independent, third-party testing laboratory for the Cosmetics and Personal Care Industry for over twenty-five years. Our facility located in Piscataway, is home to our technical staff and medical professionals from the practice of Dermatology. We are currently seeking a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist to add to our professional consulting staff. 

We find that our medical professionals enjoy the flexibility that a clinical testing schedule can provide in being able to work your practice hours around our lab visit hours. It is an excellent opportunity to increase your experience in the clinical testing arena and potentially lead to industry partnerships and or publications.

We are anxious to expand our team of clinical professionals to continue to provide excellent clinical testing services to our clients. 

Hourly compensation rates can be discussed on an individual basis.

Below is a brief example of the types of responsibilities required of you in this role:

  • Listing as PI (Principal Investigator) or Sub I (Sub-Investigator) on Clinical Studies for Cosmetics, Personal care and possibly OTC products. This also involves signing the protocol and final report for these studies.

  • At home review and approval of clinical study protocols and reports either as PI or Sub I. 

  • Performing ophthalmology exams for Clinical Studies anywhere from a few hours to a few days per month as listed above including but not limited to the following parameters:

  • The degree of lacrimation. 

  • Redness, scaling, swelling, and Meibomian gland secretions of the eyelids. 

  • Evidence of inflammation or follicular and/or papillary reaction of the palpebral conjunctivae. 

  • Evidence of inflammation or any other abnormalities of the bulbar conjunctivae.

  • Evidence of inflammation, neovascularization, edema, infiltrates, opacities and/or epithelial defects of the cornea. 

  • Evidence of scratches and deposits on hard or rigid gas permeable contact lenses.

  • Evidence of deposits, as well as changes in contact lens color, on soft contact lenses.
