R1 RCM Patient Access Manager in Pittsburg, Kansas

The Patient Access Manager will be responsible for managing the Patient Access Supervisor and the Patient Access Associates. As our Patient Access Manager, you will help the Patient Access Department by leading a group of patient access associates, manage daily metrics, and develop and oversee the implementation and administration of policies and procedures of patient admissions. Every day you will work in the Patient Access Department. To thrive in this role, you must have knowledge of revenue cycle operations, hospital, and strong organizational skills. The manager should have experience in a role that required strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and should have demonstrated the ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision. The manager will need outstanding time management skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks while remaining self-directed. The manager should have experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, with demonstrated typing proficiency. The supervisor should have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Please be advised, this is a full-time role. The manager will work Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm CST. This may include some overnights or weekend work. The manager will work onsite at Ascension Via Christi Hospital Pittsburg, KS, 1 Mt Carmel Way Pittsburg, KS 66762. The manager must be up to date on all vaccines (including but not limited to annual flu shot). We can help you with your vaccines at no cost to you. The representative will need to pass a background check and drug screen. 

Here is what you will experience working as a Patient Access Manager :

  • Coordinating with the patient access team in the operating of daily job responsibilities

  • Developing, recommending, and overseeing the implementation and administration of policies and procedures of patient admissions and bill auditing services

  • Evaluating process and procedures and coordinating with the management team to ensure efficient patient processing, bed utilization, and adherence to federal and local laws and regulations

  • Demonstrating, through plans and actions, a consistent standard of excellence to which all department work is expected to conform

  • Focusing on continuous improvement working with the Regional Director, Senior Manager and Patient Access Managers across the Health System with a goal of delivering the highest degree of quality service possible

  • Providing support for Human Resource guidance

  • Completing, reviewing, managing, and monitoring department budget

  • Directing and leading the patient access team in daily operations

  • Representing Patient Access on various committees and teams and in meetings

  • Performing other duties as assigned

  • Providing excellent service to the hospital client

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 year of experience delivering customer service while leading a team (team lead, supervisor, associates etc.)

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $51,750.00 - $74,018.70 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
