The National Institute for Materials Advancement (NIMA) at Pittsburg State University is searching for a Student Research Manager to manage all the student research activities, including advising and helping write research articles; provide lab maintenance, follow safety rules, provide training to students, keep detailed records in a lab notebook, maintain routine calibration to instruments, manage chemical waste, write manuscripts based on the results; and assist with proposal writing for external funding. .

Duties and Responsibilities

50%-Project Management:

• Oversee and manage all student research activities within the lab.
• Coordinate and allocate resources for various research projects.
• Ensure projects are progressing according to timelines and objectives.

25%- Student Advising and Support:

• Advise students on research methodologies, experimental design, and data analysis.
• Provide guidance and support to students in the development of their research skills.
• Help students write manuscripts/reports/ thesis based on specific research data.
• Foster a collaborative and productive research environment.

15% - Laboratory and Technical Management

• Perform routine maintenance of scientific instruments and upkeep of analytical and testing laboratories.
• Mentor students for analytical training.
• Manage booths at conferences and trade shows
• Participate in recruitment events
• Serve on committees

10% - Other duties as assigned
