DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Aging Care Manager 3, you will maintain, update, and disseminate extensive information regarding aging programs, services, and regulations. You will have the opportunity to provide vital technical support to care management and protective services staff, providers, and subcontractors, and investigate complaints of abuse and neglect. We are looking for someone with excellent critical thinking skills in order to perform protective services investigations and maintain a caseload of vulnerable older adults in need of protection from abuse, exploitation, abandonment, or self-neglect.
Specific case management duties include recommending cases for guardianships or mental health commitments, conducting interviews, providing consultative or expert opinions to law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges concerning abuse or neglect, and working directly with law enforcement and other professionals throughout the investigation process. Within this role, you will also provide training to new staff members, coordinate and monitor the after-hours on-call program, and screen incoming referrals and reports for individuals who may be in need of protective services.
Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.
