DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: APPLICATION DEVELOPER SPECIALIST - HR IT

PPG Industries, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, has a work-at-home Application Developer Specialist - HR IT position (with the ability to telecommute with appropriate telecommuting systems; the remote worksite must be within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA for weekly trips to the corporate office) to provide analytical and technical expertise specifically within the corporate payroll and benefits business functions, including serving as the technical lead in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of business solutions. 

Specific duties include:  (i) supporting day-to-day HR operations through data analysis and reporting as well as working on Studio integrations with complex calculations;  (ii) configuring business processes by adding new Business Process steps and building payroll reports using payroll result lines and payroll results as data sources;  (iii) testing Workday Compensation including Packages, Salary, and Hourly Plans; and  (iv) optimizing business processes and developing processes accordingly.

Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in a related position.

Must have two (2) years of experience with each of the following: (i) Workday software technical resource specializing in Payroll and Benefits configuration, Studio and PICOF integrations, custom reporting tools, and data integration tools; (ii) systems and data analysis; (iii) software development life cycle and change management concepts; (iv) User Acceptance Testing concepts; and (v) XML mappings.

Experience can be concurrent. Must be willing and able to travel domestically to other PPG and vendor sites up to 10% of the time.
