Assistant Athletic Director - Football Brand Management

 

Facilitates and oversees the creative services function of an organization and directs a team of artists or other creative professionals who produce visual messages promoting the University and its products and services. Focuses on enhancing the brand of Pitt and Pitt Football through social media, video, graphics and other media while working with several internal and external units. Manages simultaneous, concurrent creative projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets. Develops and manages relationships with vendors or freelancers, creative personnel, and internal and external clients.

Job Summary

Manages simultaneous, concurrent creative projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets. Develops and manages relationships with vendors or freelancers, creative personnel, and internal and external clients.

Essential Functions

Directs and oversees football social creative services. Directs a team of artists or other creative professionals who are responsible for producing visual messages promoting the University and its products and services. Manages multiple creative projects from start to finish; determines project objectives, brainstorms project or campaign themes, creates sketches or other images, refines concepts, and oversees final production of deliverables. Formulates layout design or presentation approach and specifies details such as style and size of type, photographs, graphics, animation, video, and sound. Ensures that projects adhere to established timelines and budgets and provides ongoing status updates. Reviews and approves art and copy materials and proofs developed by staff members. Develops and manages relationships with vendors or freelancers. Acts as a liaison between creative personnel and internal or external customers. Confers with creative, art, copywriting, or production department heads to discuss client requirements and presentation concepts and to coordinate creative activities. Confers with technical directors, managers, crew members, and writers to discuss details of production, such as photography, script, music, and sets. Confers with clients to determine objectives, budget, background information, and presentation approaches, styles, and techniques. Presents final layouts to clients for approval. Negotiates with printers and estimators to determine what services will be performed. Drives the University brand through digital and marketing channels, communication tools, and integrated marketing campaigns. Grows University brand reputation through innovative solutions. Produce and develop visual and creative materials and content for all recruiting activities, including home recruiting presentations. Works with licensing to enforce brand guidelines and with vendors to ensure adherence.
