University of Pittsburgh Clinical Placement Coordinator in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Clinical Placement Coordinator JOB SUMMARY

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Clinical Placement Coordinator to support the Department of Physician Assistant Studies of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. This position will work to support clinical education for the Physician Assistant Studies Hybrid program.

Support includes phone, email, and written correspondence related to clinical education, creation of student clinical sites in clinical management system, assistance with curricular materials and events, management of clinical year student tracking system, distribution/collection and management of surveys and evaluations, data entry and download, record keeping, scheduling of orientation sessions, managing the clinical year handbook, and monitoring of student clinical credentialing and compliance requirements, among other responsibilities. This position is the first point of contact for clinical students and preceptors and the incumbent must be able to act independently and make decisions based upon policies and procedures. The incumbent must have strong attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills to develop a rapport and good working relationship with faculty, students, other staff, and University departments as well as clinical sites and preceptors.

A qualified candidate will possess a bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in an academic setting.

The Clinical Placement Coordinator must be familiar with University policies and procedures, be able to make decisions and work independently.

Clinical Education Management

  • Serve as the administrative point of contact for clinical faculty, students, preceptors, sites, and the clinical student management program (EXXAT) *

Oversight of Clinical Education Management System (EXXAT)

Data entry and set up related to students, preceptors, sites, clearances

Troubleshooting as needed

Training faculty and students as needed

Making updates as needed

  • Correspond with clinical sites regarding student assignments, requirements, rotation details

  • Gather, organize and disseminate data related to student and site feedback and evaluations including midpoint evaluations, student evaluation of preceptor, student evaluation of site, preceptor evaluation of student, block requirement completion, End of Rotation scores, and Clinical Year Student Progress unto competency

  • Ensure accreditation compliance of all site and preceptor data include maintenance of active preceptor license, certifications, CVs, attestations and vetting documentation

  • Edit and maintain the clinical handbook

Curriculum Support

  • Evaluate instructional needs and support faculty with the design of instructional materials, facilitation of instructional events and the integration of instructional technologies

  • Purchase and schedule clinical student exams as needed

  • Schedule and coordinate annual trainings for students as

  • Assist with annual clinical year orientation

General Administrative Support

  • All clinical year administrative troubleshooting

  • Maintain clinical student academic files (paper and electronic)

  • Preparation of exam/curricular or clinical materials

  • Website updates related to clinical education

  • Support of in-person immersion event

Coordinates clinical placements by completing clinical affiliation agreements and managing the web-based platform for clinical education information coordination. Provides student training on the web-based platform and resolves technology issues, manages required student clearances, and coordinates annual student training. Provides relevant program and reportable information.
