Clinical Research Assistant II

 

Incumbent works on the opioid therapy for pain in individuals with metastatic cancer: benefits, harms and stakeholder perspectives (BEST) research study.

 

Conducts research assessments and procedures independently.

Oversees operations when leadership is unavailable.

Recruits, screens and maintains contact with participants, reviews records and surveys, and maintains databases.

Performs routine data analysis and prepares reports, data visualizations, and models.

Conducts research assessments. Recruits, screens and enrolls research participants via telephone. Follows up with study participants to survey (phone calls/interviews/consent) and maintain study retention. Reviews participant medical records. Collects and codes surveys. Verifies active status for participants. Attends relevant meetings and can provide reports on participant status. Updates CTMA spreadsheet, REDCap, recruitment, and follow-up spreadsheets. Maintains and organizes related study supplies.

Essential Functions

Requires the ability to visualize a computer screen, to work with computer hardware and software, to communicate verbally and in writing, and to use a phone. The candidate must have strong working knowledge of English.

Physical Effort

Position is mostly sedentary work.
