About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Clinician to join our team. In this role, you will be pivotal in maintaining a high standard of patient care and excellence within our facility. As a key leader, you will be responsible for onboarding new staff, conducting one-on-one evaluations, and daily rounding on the Graduate Nurses within our Rotational Programs at Presbyterian.

The Clinician is a nurse leader focused on fostering a culture of excellence in patient care. Reporting to the department manager, they handle employee evaluations, staff hiring, and performance management. They provide education, training, and clinical expertise to staff, and will also be responsible for delivering nursing care as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Clinician fosters productive relationships internally and externally through positive communication, mentoring, and modeling. They address workplace issues, demonstrate accountability for safe work practices, and utilize performance improvement tools to enhance care quality. The Clinician mentors staff, including students and new hires, and shares knowledge across the organization. They align with national and organizational goals to improve patient safety and satisfaction and create a compassionate patient experience. Applying Relationship-Based Care, they use critical thinking to address patient needs and ensure clear communication. The Clinician leads clinical practice improvements, supports staff through transitions, and takes on formal leadership roles in quality improvement and onboarding.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required; BSN mandatory. Master's degree preferred or, if BS is not in nursing, a Master's or higher in Nursing is required.

  • Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse and ability to provide age-specific care.

  • Knowledge of growth and development principles and the ability to assess and interpret patient needs.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff, physicians, and patients.

  • Effective in a complex environment, handling multiple priorities and specialized equipment.

  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills needed.

  • Mobility, visual dexterity, and physical stamina required for patient care tasks.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state. National Certification preferred. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Act 34

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
