We are seeking a highly motivated Events & Experience Manager with strong customer service and a collaborative mindset to cultivate events for students, staff, and faculty at the III. Events are an extension of our culture and identity, and we want our guests to experience the iii throughout our events. A successful finalist will have an organic instinct for hospitality, creativity and think holistically. This role will support all marketing collateral for events with the goals of elevating the iii experience and delightfully informing our community. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and organized, have previous event management experience and excellent communications and visual design skills. This role will report to the Senior Associate Director for Marketing.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Managing events (ideation to execution) for Pittsburgh and Silicon Valley campuses (ex: orientations, graduations, holiday parties, staff/faculty retreats, admissions/alumni events)

Liaising with CMU campus event partners (CMU Contracts, Facilities, Procurement), technical support (Technical Enhanced Support (TES), etc.) and others to achieve event outcomes.

Collaborating with staff, students, and faculty to explore new ideas for the III.

Developing all event communications collateral needs through various channels (ex: Mailchimp, Slack, individual outreach, social media, video)

Exploring new technology platforms to support event management and communication.

Designing, ordering, and maintaining III swag based on annual needs and budget goals.

Refine the iii experience through shared branded assets for staff/faculty (ex: PPT, signage, email templates).

Assisting and/or owning various III internal communication projects.

Maintaining CMU purchasing card and vendor relationships related to events, swag, and experiences.

Supporting large scale marketing projects, as needed.

Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree required

3-5 years of event planning experience

You can work independently for extended periods and manage time constraints to meet deadlines and goals.

You have successful experience working in a team environment with various communication tools - email, calendars, Slack, etc.

You are a team player, eager to participate in events, meetings or other projects as needed to elevate the III.

You have previous event management experience, preferably in higher education.
