Serves as trusted advisor to senior leadership and advises on programs, initiatives, and special projects. Translates strategic plans into operational plans. Oversees communications, promotions, and public relations for unit. Develops effective partnerships throughout the University to advance University vision. Serves in the most advanced professional capacity in a highly complex Basic Science Research Department (Pharmacology and Chemical Biology) that includes faculty, post doctoral associates, staff and students. Duties include: Administration, oversight and final authorizer of all fiscal, human resource, faculty affairs, medical and graduate education, space and space planning, facilities and facilities management, information technology, sponsored project management, international services, intellectual property, and compliance aspects of the department. Incumbent must be able to act independently to determine, interpret and execute Department, School and University policy.

Start Date: November 1, 2024

Hiring Range: $86,351 - $115,134

Excellent analytical and communications skills as well as multi-tasking throughout the work day.

Physical Effort

Position is generally sedentary, but sometimes physically uncomfortable; frequently requires maintaining a sitting posture, stooping, or bending, some very light lifting, such as one or two reams of paper, may be required. Also walking around campus and the Oakland area.
