General Summary: This position reports to the Vice President for Facilities Management and assists with providing leadership and coordination of assigned activities with college campuses, centers, departments, and outside agencies. The position oversees, or assists with, oversight of the planning, direction, and oversight of operational and budgetary activities of the Facilities Management Department, and assists with, and supports, college-wide security and safety operations. Supports the Vice President of Facilities Management in providing highly responsible and complex administrative services to advance the mission of the institution and to foster collaboration with campus leaders and facilities staff.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required in engineering, architecture or a related degree in the construction/facilities industry from an accredited college or university. Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible management experience in various levels of Facilities Services, Construction, College Administration, or similar work environment.

Duties:

 

  1. Oversees planning of, and direction for, college-wide work plans for all facilities services operations. Works collaboratively with Directors of Facilities and other campus leaders to assess and complete work activities.

     

  2. Assures that all College facilities are maintained in the best possible working order and that facilities are safe and code compliant at all times.

     

  3. Implements and maint ins a cloud-based asset management and facilities work order system.

     

  4. Implements and maintains a thorough preventive maintenance program across the College.

     

  5. Plans, executes, and monitors work flow and work products, results, methods, and procedures.

     

  6. Participates in and supervises, as necessary, the development and administration of facilities services budgets. Monitors and approves expenditures as necessary.

     

  7. Develops, plans, and participates in the implementation of departmental and college-wide goals; initiates and recommends actions to accomplish these objectives.

     

  8. Participates in strategic planning and goals setting activities; Supports college wide sustainability goals and projects.

     

  9. Coordinates college-wide activities with the campuses, centers, departments, and outside agencies.

     

  10. In collaboration with the Purchasing Department and others involved in various areas of Facilities Management, develops RFPs, bids, contracts, and proposals for facilities related services.

     

  11. Analyzes problems and trouble shoots to identify alternative solutions; implements recommendations to accomplish desired results.

     

  12. Working with Directors of Facilities and others in the College, oversees operations and maintenance of College building systems such as electrical, HVAC, fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, boilers, elevators, etc, to assure that the College is in compliance and that all required certificates and maintenance records are maintained electronically in a central location.

     

  13. Supports professional development for the Directors of Facilities and their staff; Assures that all Facilities staff (Directors, Maintenance and Custodial) are provided essential training in OSHA, Hazardous Materials and other areas that may be deemed critical for their respective roles at CCAC.

     

  14. Assumes leadership in the absence of VP of Facilities.

     

  15. Performs other duties as assigned or as required.

     

Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College.
