Responsibilities include analyzing T cells ex vivo from mouse, rhesus, and human models using techniques like flow cytometry and microscopy. The research will concentrate on the role of stress granules in immune responses and the interaction between T and B cells in germinal center follicles. The candidate will also engage in scientific development activities, such as writing manuscripts, conducting reviews, and mentoring trainees. Participation in seminars, professional development opportunities, and presentations at scientific meetings will be encouraged. Regular feedback and performance evaluations will be provided to support the candidates growth and progress.

One -- is to understand the immunological basis of HIV-associated neurodegeneration, and the second is to harness CD4 T cells to engender strong antibody responses for the HIV vaccine. Available projects focus on deciphering the molecular mechanisms of robust and pathogenic immune responses utilizing a variety of highly powerful approaches. Applicants are expected to have strong in neurobiology, modulation of neuronal and glial cells ex vivo, molecular biology techniques and microscopy approaches to study immune-neuronal-glial cell interactions.
