Lead Audio Visual Technician

 

The Lead Audio Visual Technician within Event Productions will be responsible for ensuring all audio visual needs of clients are met. This individual will meet with clients to discuss and determine technical needs for events as well as oversee proper delivery and operation of these items. Must have extensive knowledge on a wide range of technical (audio/visual) equipment such as projectors, sound systems, lighting and be proficient in live audio mixing. Routinely is responsible for setup and operations of technical equipment used for events. Ensures that equipment (audio, video, lighting) is working properly and to the satisfaction of the client for the duration of assigned events. Uses set up and running of events as an opportunity to train student staff on proper equipment usage. Oversees student employees assigned to assist with events. This position will also assist with hiring, training and supervising student employees as well as assist with equipment maintenance, installation and inventory management.

Job Summary

Maintains, installs, and provides technical support for video, audio, and control systems across University campuses. Retains records and assists with inventory. Actively seeks innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance the AV experience. Sets up and effectively operates video recording, audio, photo, and lighting equipment; edits and organizes footage. Facilitates AV orientation sessions for new users.

Physical Effort

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time as well as transport audio visual equipment to various locations.
