The Department of Bioengineering is seeking a Lead Grants Administrator.

The desired candidate will serve in a lead role as one of two Lead Grants Administrators. The incumbent will report directly to the Financial Administrator. They will serve in an advanced fiscal and administrative capacity maintaining accurate accounting records for a portion of our overall research (FY24 - $22.3 mil in research expenditures). Including, but not limited to, GSR support accounts and research accounts (in excess of 300 accounts), and department 02 and 04 accounts. Incumbent will be responsible for reconciling account activity and independently resolving discrepancies. Incumbent will also create regular summary reports to help department faculty manage and track their finances. Financial responsibilities will include level report reconciliation, updating detail summary of entire grant portfolio for each of our research faculty, posting departmental purchases and salaries, as well as seeking out and managing funding for nearly 200 graduate students. This will involve working with University wide grant administrators and monitoring additional yearly funding for sponsored projects. In addition, the incumbent will assist with interviewing financial team candidates. Incumbent will be able to function well independently and serve in a leadership role to other Grants Administrator and Grants Assistant within department.

Job Summary

Performs post-award accounting duties for moderately complex grants and contracts. Monitors account activity, performs internal audits, resolves routine issues, and provides policy and procedure interpretation. Prepares routine financial reports and government reports. Recommends operational improvements.

Essential Functions

Ability to speak clearly for telephone contact, have manual dexterity to use keyboard, 10-Key numeric keypad, and other office equipment.

Remaining in a stationary position, often standing and sitting for prolonged periods. Communicating with others and repeated motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
