Position Purpose:

The Residential Care Advisor provides direct service to seriously and persistently mentally ill adults who have a co-occurring drug or alcohol diagnosis. Service provision consists of teaching all appropriate living/social skills in order to enhance the consumer’s level of independent or helping the consumers maintain his/her skill level to possibly move to a less restrictive site. The Residential Care Advisor will aid in administering medications and implementing the treatment plan of each person served. The Residential Care Advisor will maintain daily documentation according to established PMHS policy and procedure and regulatory requirements. We are looking for people who believe in a strengths-based approach and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities.

What You Will Do:

  • Provides direct service as necessary.

  • Aid in administering scheduled and PRN medications.

  • Assist team members in implementation of the treatment plan.

  • Aid team members in case management activities such as completing referrals as necessary.

  • Engage regularly with persons served to ascertain needs and progress in treatment.

  • Recognize potential crisis and respond to or intervene in crisis situations within the guidelines of Organizational Policy and Procedure using approved CPI techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor degree in a human service field and 1 year of direct care experience OR an associate’s degree in a human service field and 3 years of direct care experience.

  • Valid Driver’s License required and ability to drive an organization vehicle

  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Act 33/34/73 clearances

Schedule: This is a Non-Exempt (hourly) position

  • Saturday and Sunday double: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm

  • Friday night, but day is negotiable/flexible
