Excelitas Technologies is seeking a qualified Revenue Accountant. This position will be located in our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, office. The successful candidate will report directly to the Global Director of Revenue Accounting. Responsibilities include working cross-functionally with our global Finance and Legal teams to provide guidance and training on technical accounting or policy issues related to revenue recognition, as well as reviewing contracts and preparing accounting memos supporting revenue recognition interpretations in accordance with US GAAP. The Revenue Accountant is also responsible for providing best-in-class support for the period close of revenue and cost G/L accounts. Additional key responsibilities include processing transactions in revenue accounting systems, making journal entries, running financial reports, analyzing booked and deferred revenue, costs of sale and deferred contract costs. This position is also a contributor to improvements in our revenue system (RevStream, powered by Alteryx data analytics).

Excelitas Technologies has operating companies in North America, EMEA and APAC regions. The role will involve communications with teams located in other locations, as well as personnel at HQ in USA. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Review customer contracts for revenue recognition attributes and document relevant conclusions; Support delivery of guidance and training to cross-functional teams within the organization; Collect and review data from various operating sites and systems used to determine recorded revenue; Support monthly and quarterly financial close processes including importing and exporting data, analyzing and explaining variances from forecast; Process transactions in revenue support systems; Make manual adjusting journal entries; Reconcile B/S accounts at period end; Provide relevant financial reporting regarding revenue activity as required; Maintain appropriate internal controls and support external audit activities and audit preparation; Support the implementation of revenue recognition calculation tools (RevStream, Alteryx, Agiloft CMS, Blackline, PowerBI) by testing of transactions, running exception reports, working with others on Revenue Accounting Team and at individual operating locations. Education:Bachelors degree in Accounting/ Finance required. CPA, CA, CIA, CMA designation strongly preferred. Years of Work Experience:3+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting, preferably within a manufacturing company. Required Experience: Working knowledge of ASC 606/ IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards; Accounting background including experience of making journal and general ledger entries, doing reconciliations, etc.; Experience working with Financial ERP systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, Great Plains AX) Excellent analytical skills; Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.); Goal / deadline oriented; Must be able to focus on detail and be able to prioritize multiple tasks; Ability to work flexible hours in support of Corporate and regional teams, particularly around quarterly close. Preferred Experience: Experience in technology manufacturing, engineering services businesses, defense sector; Exposure to revenue recognition software such as Aptitude/ RevStream, Zuora Revenue/ RevPro or Softrax, and to SAP S/4 HANA or Oracle e-Business Suite, including GL, OM, AR, and Projects; Exposure to data analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or Alteryx; Exposure to automated Contract Management solutions and Blackline reconciliation tool; This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); Visa sponsorship is not available for any position at Excelitas.
