UPMC is hiring a full-time Supervisor of Fleet Transportation to support Supply Chain Management.

This position works Monday-Friday, 4:00a-12:00p. No weekends required!

Purpose:

Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, Fleet Transportation the incumbent in this position is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all shuttle transportation management functions within the assigned business unit(s). This includes personnel shuttles, dispatch and fleet management. Additionally, this position is responsible for the training, and evaluation of all shuttle drivers and dispatchers within their assigned business unit(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Functions in a leadership role to accomplish goals and objectives

  • To provide operational support for day to day management

  • To assist in managing financial performance and staffing

  • Customer Relations Management

  • Demonstrates capability to meet or exceed customer requirements

  • Communicates continuous improvement and value

  • Recognizes and understands methods to improve operational efficiencies

  • Demonstrates understanding and responsibility of state and federal compliance regulations

  • Assists in monitoring D.O.T. compliance

  • Assists in developing and fostering a strong working relationship between UPMC security, hospital operations and UPMC SCM; Maintain open communications between local hospital and UPMC SCM for ordering and delivering of supplies

  • Promote safety and maintain the department in a clean and organized fashion

  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.*Performs other duties as assigned.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of direct logistics experience required

  • High School Diploma required

  • Associates degree preferred

  • Deep understanding of transportation regulations and governmental policies related to transporting people required

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills required

  • Ability to manage change in a busy environment required

  • Computer proficiency of various business software packages preferred

  • Understands vehicular specifications and fleet planning

  • Demonstrates capability to supervise fleet Recognizes and understands methods to improve operational efficiencies Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • DOT Medical card clearance

  • CDL Passenger Endorsement within 6 months of hire

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of hire

  • FMSCA Clearinghouse Drug and Alcohol Registration
