Sustainability Manager

PDC oversees campus development, including campus planning, architectural design, construction, signage, and space planning services, ensuring the advancement of the University's campus master plan. The team provides architectural and construction-management services for regional and Pittsburgh campuses.

Job Summary

 

Oversees and implements sustainability projects and programming within a department and/or Responsibility Center. Serves as liaison between internal and external stakeholders regarding sustainability, policies and procedures, and communications, including coordinating project delivery and communications across multiple stakeholders. Recommends best practices regarding sustainability initiatives to department and/or Responsibility Center. Tracks and reports metrics to document impact and improve the effectiveness of programs.

 

Essential Functions

Develops and implements various sustainability programs and associated initiatives within department/Responsibility Center. In collaboration with the Office of Sustainability, implements policies, procedures, and best practices regarding sustainability as it pertains to assigned department and/or Responsibility Center. Creates, implements, and assists in program delivery relating to resource use reduction and education within a department and/or Responsibility Center. Coordinates project delivery and communications across multiple stakeholders, channels, and platforms Collaborates with various University departments to enhance sustainability practices and ensures compliance with policies. Tracks and reports on metrics to document impact of programs. Manages and maintains departmental and/or Responsibility Center's programming budget for sustainability. Reviews and analyzes current departmental and/or Responsibility Center sustainability programming for effectiveness. Prepares and implements recommendations for improvements. Recommends best practices to incorporate sustainability initiatives into department and/or Responsibility Center's key functions and stakeholder engagement. Participates in community outreach to promote sustainability efforts within department, Responsibility Center, and across University. Ensures all programs, activities, and series comply with University, state, and federal regulations. Physical Effort

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
