Position Overview

The Team Lead ensures the provision of direct care and supportive services to residents within CHS Residential programs, maintaining a respectful and cooperative approach. Additionally, the Team Lead oversees staff members to ensure completion of required documentation, effective communication, crisis management, and participation in mandatory training sessions. They may also contribute to the maintenance of the work site as necessary. The Team Lead is proficient in all residential programs and may operate across various residential sites as required. CHS adopts the Housing First and Harm Reduction service delivery models, prioritizing immediate housing assistance without preconditions regarding abstention from harmful behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a professional and therapeutic relationship with residents.

• Train new staff members on job responsibilities, agency policies and procedures, and protocols for working with residents. Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure new staff members are equipped to perform their duties effectively.

• The Team Lead will be working at a 24/7 residential facility and will be expected to ensure that all state mandated regulations for coverage are being met. This includes flexing your schedule to fill shifts where staffing coverage is not met. Due to these regulations Team Leads are not permitted to leave the residential site until their relief has arrived and must ensure the required ratios are always maintained.

• Set the standard in developing positive relationships with residents and staff, ensuring they feel supported and understood.

• Model and uphold appropriate boundaries to foster a safe and respectful environment for both residents and staff.

• Offer counseling and guidance to residents, helping them with decision-making, gaining insight, and monitoring their progress toward goals.

• Supporting staff in addressing concerns for the people served.

• Coordinate with eternal support and community organizations to enhance service delivery and access to resources for residents.

• Assist Program Manager in conducting staff meetings, provide guidance and feedback, and help facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.

• Addressing all emergencies calmly and respectfully, implementing appropriate procedures and seeking outside support when necessary.

• Ensuring timely completion of required written documentation amongst the team, including incident reports, progress notes, and other case record forms, to provide a comprehensive overview of residents' progress and needs.

• Ensuring staff is adhering to agency and program policies and procedures, identifying appropriate procedures for various situations, and ensuring compliance with state regulations for coverage at a licensed residential facility.

• Assisting residents with household duties, reporting needed repairs, and ensuring health and safety standards are met to maintain a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

• Supporting PM with tasks as assigned.

• Supporting RSS staff to ensure compliance with all agency and state regulations.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Through a combination of experience and education, the Team Lead will have:

• Pre-employment physical and TB screening with results stating person is free from communicable disease, at hire and every two years thereafter.

• Act 34 Criminal, Act 33 Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal clearances.

• A valid PA driver’s license have driving record acceptable to agency’s insurance review, and pass internal driving test.

• A strong ability to lead others.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Exceptional customer service communication.

• Cultural competence, being able to work effectively with all backgrounds.

• Experience and ability to de-escalate mental and behavioral health crisis situations

• Strong organizational, phone and computer skills.

• A working knowledge of the social service system through life or job-related experience.

• A willingness to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Strong ability to navigate the Internet to familiarize and access various resources.

• Ability to work and travel independently.

Applicants are required to have at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a social service organization. Act 34 Criminal, Act 33 Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal clearances. The Team Lead will be required to obtain a Certified Food Protection Management certificate via an approved source within the first 30 days of employment.

Position Physical Demands:

The Team Lead will be called upon to engage in physical activity related to general office work, including the capacity to lift to 15lbs and stand or sit for extended periods. Also, the ability to walk up and down steps and physical activity related to cooking, cleaning, and general household maintenance.
