Servicenet Shelter Counselors in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Our shelters offer comfortable, home-like environments for parents and children. As a Shelter Counselor; you attend to the daily affairs and welfare of our families. Together, we provide our guests with the time and support they need to get their lives back on track and make a successful transition into permanent housing. Position Responsibilities: Work to provide a healthy home-like atmosphere in the house or apartment. Attend to the daily affairs and welfare of all clients during each assigned shift. This includes but is not limited to: counsel, training in daily living skills, recreational and socialization programming and supervision, supervision of tasks within the apartment or house, and case management. Write log notes, progress notes, and any other client record keeping that may be assigned. Attend weekly staff meetings, biweekly supervisory sessions, and other meetings as scheduled. Enforcing program regulations and policies. Qualifications: Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply! High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with people living on a low income, or who are affected by mental health issues and/or addiction. Proficiency across the following skills: verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, and use of computer and technology. Benefits / Incentives: Starting \$17/hr.
