About us:

Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital in Pittsfield, Maine. Our hospital was created from community interest and need and continues to move ahead based on the needs of our region.

A group of community leaders established the hospital in 1963. Today, the hospital serves an area encompassing a population of approximately 40,000 people in central Maine and is accredited by The Joint Commission as a critical-access hospital and a laboratory.

About you:

The Nurse Residency Program consists of monthly workshops, quarterly simulation experiences and an evidence-based practice project over an 11-month period. The residency program is a commitment of 12 hours per month and is included as one of your scheduled 12 hour work shifts in a 36 hour workweek. The program is required for all new graduate nurses, with the goal of assisting the resident with the transition from advanced beginner to competent professional nurse.
