Responsibilities

• Design and Blueprint Creation: Mold makers work with engineers to design the molds, which involves creating detailed drawings and blueprints using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.

• Material Selection: They select appropriate materials for the molds (such as steel or aluminum) based on the product's requirements, like durability or heat resistance.

• Machining: Using various tools and machines (CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines), they shape and carve the mold according to the design specifications.

• Assembly and Testing: Once the mold parts are fabricated, tool mold makers assemble them and test their functionality by producing test parts.

• Maintenance and Repair: They ensure that molds are regularly maintained and repaired to prevent wear and damage, ensuring optimal functioning for production runs.

• Problem-solving and Adjustments: If molds do not function properly during testing or production, mold makers diagnose and correct any issues, making necessary adjustments to the mold.
