Join our team as a Business Analyst & Release Support Associate within the CAO Chief Data Office to support our ever-expanding book of work.
As a Business Analyst & Release Support Associate in the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Chief Data Office, you will assist the Analytics Solutions Manager in maintain the book of work used to deliver data-related technology solutions, and conduct user acceptance testing of those solutions ahead of a release of enhancements into production. You will also assist in the creation of "stories" that contain the requirements for this tech build, which will require engagement with requestors, relevant subject matter experts and our tech support team. These stories will need to include not only requirements that developers can easily understand, but also a definition of the success criteria so that the proper quality assurance can be conducted prior to user acceptance testing.
Job responsibilities:
Creating user stories that tech support will leverage to develop required data solutions
Assist in the maintenance of a backlog of stories sufficient to keep our tech resources working at full capacity
Engaging with various stakeholders to ensure requirements contained in those stories are actionable in terms of the developers' ability to easily and accurately write code to meet those requirements
Provide testing support of developed enhancements to ensure proper functioning prior to release into production
Gaining a level of subject matter knowledge that can be leveraged to provide guidance and validation around the appropriateness of using certain data from certain sources in providing the requested solution
Provide testing support for data solutions created by others on our team as well as by our tech partners to ensure the proper data quality and appropriateness of developed solution
Participate as time allows on other strategic DSGBI projects, including but not limited to efforts to move Oracle database to the cloud and urgent regulatory demand
Participate in regularly-scheduled calls with tech support, fielding questions about requirements, especially where clarification is needed to enable code completion.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems or related discipline
3+ years of experience in reporting, data and analytics or business analysis roles
Experience in agile tech development is a must
Strong advocate for data quality and integrity
Ability to dig in and understand data issues and use that knowledge to effectively operationalize recurring review processes
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to plan, organize, prioritize and execute to hit multiple conflicting timelines
Ability to operate in a collaborative and cooperative environment, and must possess the strong interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively and communicate effectively with colleagues at various levels of the organization
Adapts well to changing scope and complexity of work brought on by business growth
Highly Proficient in Excel and strong MS Power Point and SharePoint skills required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Familiarity with Confluence and Jira tools a plus
