USAA Business Support Analyst Senior - Credit Risk Review in Plano, Texas

The Opportunity

The Credit Risk Review (CRR) group , led by the Head of CRR, is responsible for independently evaluating the USAA Federal Savings Bank’s (Bank) credit risks of exposures from both lending and non-lending activities to opine upon the effectiveness of first line and second line of defense credit risk management practices and credit quality in fulfillment of regulatory expectations for safety and soundness.

  • CRR reports administratively through Bank Audit Services, functionally to the USAA and Bank Boards of Directors, is governed by the Enterprise CRR Policy and the Interagency Guidance for CRR Systems

  • CRR conducts its work through execution of its programs in adherence with the CRR business plan. The CRR Programs include but are not limited to Continuous Monitoring, Periodic Reviews, and Portfolio Assessments.

  • Results are reported to executive & senior management, the USAA Board of Directors, the Bank Board of Directors, and the Bank Credit Risk Management Committee

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Support Analyst Senior to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing business information to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to optimize operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting key business functions and providing recommendations to help achieve our strategic objectives.

The right person for this position will work closely with and report directly to the Head of CRR to enhance business performance, set accountability metrics, track progress monthly, and drive various project management activities. Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel is a must, as well as strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. The successful candidate will not hesitate to ask questions, follow-up on tasks, and challenge leadership when necessary.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position is located in Plano TX.

What you'll do:

  • Develops and maintains an understanding of overall complex business functions with in-depth knowledge of specific areas/functions and related activities.

  • Guides in development of business goals and objectives to exploit all distribution channels, leverage use of data, and simplify processes.

  • Provides operational support on current complex processes and supports business operations and management in finding opportunities and solutions to meet current and future business needs.

  • Validates information and works with other groups to include presentations of detailed findings, alternatives and recommended actions.

  • Participates in the planning, research, analysis, development, and implementation of new and modifications to existing applications and processes to provide new or improved capabilities, products, and/or services.

  • Maintains broad system knowledge, stays ahead of on all system improvements, identifies training needs and implements plans.

  • Maintains broad business knowledge, stays ahead of on key business strategies & initiatives and finds opportunities for support and enablement.

  • Assists with the documentation of new and revised departmental procedures.

  • Captures information for complex processes, analyzes data and trends, identifies root causes, and develops work products.

  • Serves as a resource to team members on called out issues of a routine nature.

  • Reviews and analyzes reports and provides recommendations to improve matrix and reporting controls,

  • Develops and analyzes additional ad-hoc reports as needed by Management and or Regulatory Agencies.

  • Contributes on policies, standards, risk management and controls related to relevant processes.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 6 years of experience in end-to-end analysis and/or operations experience, including: requirement gathering and documentation, operational planning and forecasting, data analytics, or current/future state analysis, in direct support of business planning initiatives and optimization of business operations.

  • Detailed knowledge in a wide variety of systems coordination, process/product review initiatives and the development of management information requirements for related business functions.

  • Knowledge of business operations and systems/business requirements processes.

  • Experience facilitating and driving collaboration to common understanding of business requirements and driving standard enterprise wide business processes.

  • Knowledge of business analysis tools for ex: MS Visio MS Excel, Tableau, SQL.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $89,990 - $172,000 .

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
