Principal Process Manager

As a Principal Process Manager at Capital One, you will be part of a smart, talented team responsible for creating and enhancing processes within the recently launched Navigator Platform to ensure we are providing the best customer experience in the industry, while upholding the Capital One standards & policies. You would be responsible for leading a small but mighty team of 2 Principal Coordinators and/or Associates.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct ownership of critical business processes as a Process Owner, supporting process managers with designing and implementing process improvements, managing risks, establishing and maintaining formal process documentation, and improving control effectiveness

  • Monitoring and sharing performance insights to stakeholders (such as senior business leaders and accountable executives) and business partners.

  • Owning and managing issue resolution.

  • Establishing an environment of continuous improvement where we are constantly leaning into technology to drive standardization and improvements.

  • Coach and train junior PM levels on processes, performance targets and goals

  • Resolve complex problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes; escalate breakdowns in the process by asking the right questions and identify and involve the right stakeholders to correct breakdowns.

  • Perform parts of the process as needed

  • Establish an environment of continuous improvement where we are constantly leaning into technology to drive standardization and improvements.

  • Foster a culture of openness & collaboration

Note: This exempt role follows the hybrid model. Associates are expected to come into the office 3 days a week across Tuesdays and Thursdays, reserving Mondays and Fridays as company-wide virtual days.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 3 years of experience in People leadership

  • At least 3 years of experience in Process Management or Risk Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Auto Financing Industry

  • 4+ years of experience in Process Management

  • 5+ years of experience in People leadership

  • 2+ years of experience in basic coding or data visualization (e.g. SQL, Tableau)
