JPMorgan Chase Sr Manager of Software Engineering in Plano, Texas

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial Bank - Process Automation team, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.

Job responsibilities

  • Provides product documentation site for all reviews, improvements, tutorials, and content

  • Tracks all ongoing engagements and report status to the Engineering Director and Product Director

  • Continuously improves the engineer experience through the engagement process by taking feedback or retrospection of the engagements

  • Demos the product to stakeholders including Product teams and Engineering teams of various levels of expertise

  • Works closely with the Head of Engineering to inform and design on new roadmap items for business value

  • Designs solutions using the Aurora Elements platform

  • Mentors and trains Engineers for the solutions architecture team

  • Identifies new features for the software through feedback cycles given the engagements with customers

  • Collaborates with Design, Product, and Engineering to ideate, improve UX/UI, prioritize, develop and release features for customers general availability

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.

  • Possesses solid leadership skills and the ability to independently own customer engagements end-to-end with a strong track record of project deliveries.

  • Extensive technical background, with experience working on cloud, managed services, developer experience platform

  • Excellence in navigating a matrixed organization in multiple time zones and the ability to influence peers by articulating the product offering and value to business partners

  • Must have expert writing skills to communicate technical features in a way that is understandable to most.

  • Ability to take abstract requirements and utilize the software components at hand to design a solution for customers. The domain of the software components is for Workflow orchestration

  • Strong technical background in; Java, JavaScript, Kubernetes, Postgres, Drools, GraphQL and AWS products

  • Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives

  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent

  • Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner or higher certification.

  • Experience with Workflow processing using Camunda or Activiti.
