Seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager with experience managing Data-related projects from inception to delivery.

This role is slated to be a long-term contract with extensions.

Seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a background supporting data projects and proven experience partnering with Product. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and executing complex technical projects, ensuring their successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget. This role requires a deep understanding of Agile principles, exceptional project management skills, leadership capabilities, and effective communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Day to day involvement in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, systems, and platforms that enable data-driven decision making and analytics. As a data engineering project manager, you need to have a combination of technical, business, and soft skills to ensure the success of your project.

Responsibilities:

  1. Agile Leadership: Champion Agile principles and practices throughout the project lifecycle. Lead Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Guide the team in adopting and adhering to Agile methodologies.

  2. Scope and Iteration Management: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, breaking them down into manageable iterations. Develop and maintain a well-defined product backlog and ensure Timely delivery of prioritized features

  3. Resource Allocation: Identify and allocate necessary resources, both internal and external, required for project success. Foster a collaborative and self-organizing team environment that encourages ownership and accountability

  4. Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify potential risks and issues within the Agile framework. Work closely with the team to address challenges and impediments promptly, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  5. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate open and transparent communication with stakeholders, providing regular project updates, progress reports, and demos. Ensure alignment between project goals, user stories, and business objectives.

  6. Technical Proficiency: Possess a strong understanding of the technical aspects of the projects being managed within an Agile context and possess an understanding of data flows in an enterprise.

  7. Quality Assurance: Drive a culture of quality and continuous testing within Agile iterations. Collaborate with the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, functional increments in each iteration.

  8. Change Management and Adaptability: Embrace change and uncertainty inherent in Agile projects. Guide the team and stakeholders through iterations, ensuring a smooth transition to new features and updates.

  9. Agile Coaching and Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members on Agile practices, fostering skill development and Agile maturity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. (Equivalent experience acceptable).

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster, or other relevant Agile certifications are a plus.

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Technical Project Manager successfully delivering complex technical projects in iterative and incremental cycles.

  • Data Focused aptitude and experience

  • Develop and maintain relationships with data migration project stakeholders

  • Day to day involvement in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, systems, and platforms that enable data-driven decision making and analytics. As a data engineering project manager, you need to have a combination of technical, business, and soft skills to ensure the success of your project.

  • Understanding of Agile principles, values, and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).

  • Proficiency in Agile project management tools and software.

  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and servant leadership skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.

  • Track record of effectively managing Agile project budgets, resources, risks, and timelines.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities
