About you and this role

In this role you will share responsibility for the implementation of the EH&S management system in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate the facility. You will also provide hands-on environmental, industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) support for plant operations. This position will require you to broadened technical skills in operational processes to support facility activities. You may also act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

  • Implements detailed, task level, day to day EH&S programs, utilizing the EH&S work process, standards and procedures.

  • Ensures that the Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of section owner for the EH&S sections of operating discipline.

  • Acts as the Plant resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards.

  • Serves as plant contact for Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety issues.

  • Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks and activities.

  • Performs/coordinates certain Environmental, and IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • A minimum of 5 or more years of experience in an Operations, Maintenance, or EH&S role within an industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Must have the ability to work overtime as needed.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk for extended periods of time.

  • Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.

  • Work in tight and closed in spaces.

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.

  • Work in an area of intense or continuous noise.

  • Work in an area with hazardous materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant military experience.

  • Associates degree or higher in an EH&S discipline.

  • Previous EH&S experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Be proficient in Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Have strong Interpersonal, Facilitative, and Organizational skills.

  • Effectively interacts and communicates with multiple functions and diverse individuals to achieve goals.

  • Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize appropriately.

  • Effectively manages multiple competing priorities.

  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
