Turbine Engineer

Fort Lupton/Platteville, CO

System One is currently seeking a Turbine Engineer on a 12 month contract position located in Platteville/Fort Lupton, CO.

Turbine Engineer Responsibilities:

• Project Overview and deliverables

• Support a new combustion turbine project within an existing power plant site near the Denver metro area.

• Primarily working directly with the project manager, in addition to other project engineers, operations staff in addition to construction superintendent and inspectors.

• More of a leadership role, in that if the PM is not around, the Project Engineer will step up to assume responsibility for the project leadership.

• Will be working under the direction of the project manager, engineering team, superintendents, inspectors, etc.

• Manage review process of drawings to ensure that the vendors/contractors are completing major construction tasks according to specifications.

• Will also work to resolve issues and RFI's.

• Will be working/interacting with outside suppliers/vendors such as GE, who is the major equipment supplier.

• Will also be working with EPC contractors (who install equipment), to represent the company.

  Turbine Engineer Requirements:

• BS degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering)

• Project Engineering and construction experience for combustion turbine type projects.

• At least 5-10 years experience including the design and construction of this type of project.

• Must be proficient with SharePoint in addition to Microsoft Office.

• Proficiency with Project Wise, Microsoft Bluebeam and SAP for the financial side.

• Experience working with EPC contractors and major equipment suppliers.

• Must have previous field engineering and construction experience.

• Must possess strong communication and negotiation skills to manage projects.

• Must be well organized.

• Valid Drivers License and dependable transportation to/from work.

• GE experience is preferred.

• Combustion turbine supplier experience.

• PE certification preferred.

  Monday through Friday work schedule. the construction site is not built yet; if the Plant Engineer starts before the site is stood up, you will be expected to office out of 1800 Larimer in Denver 3 days per week. Once site is stood will be required to be onsite Monday through Friday. Hours will vary on construction process. Sites will be about 45 minutes north of Denver in Ft Lupton/Platteville, CO. Plant sites are 5 miles away from each other.
