We offer both short-term (bonus) incentive plans and long-term (stock option) incentive plans, tuition assistance for continuing education, gym memberships, a generous 401k plan with Day 1 vesting and much more.With NTi, you aren't a number, you're a valuable team member!The Additive Manufacturing Engineer provides engineering support to cross-functional teams, utilizing OEM engineering and contractual flow down, customer digital data, drawings, parts lists, customer, and industrial specifications, etc. for RPD™ additive manufacturing facilities in Plattsburgh, NY.In a typical day, your expertise:Assists in the part evaluation and quoting process by gathering necessary data and contributing to cost estimates for additive manufacturing projectsAssists Senior AM Engineers in developing and optimizing additive manufacturing processesSupports the design and development of components and parts using additive manufacturing techniquesCollaborates with NTi Engineers and Subject Matter Experts to optimize manufacturing processes for DED applicationsProvides production support, troubleshooting, and assistance to the production and supply chain teamsAids in the identification and evaluation of suppliers for downstream processing of tooling and additively manufactured componentsContributes to the continuous development and optimization of Manufacturing Execution System (MES)Creates routings for additive manufacturing workflowsAssists in research and development activities, conducting experiments, and analyzing data to support additive manufacturing projectsParticipates in training sessions and learning opportunities to enhance additive manufacturing knowledge and skillsRemains apprised of the latest advancements in additive manufacturing technologies and assists in implementing improvementsConduct research and experiments to assess process performance and identity opportunities for improvementCollaborates with cross-functional teams to assist in design validation and manufacturability assessments of RPD™ componentsContributes to the implementation and maintenance of MES templates to ensure the production of high-quality parts and repeatability of resultsUtilizes CAD/CAM software, slicing tools, and simulation applications relevant to NTi processesParticipates in post- processing activities, to ensure desired material propertiesDocuments process development activities, results, and findings to contribute to the knowledge base of the NTi teamProactively leads continuous improvement efforts to improve profitability, competitiveness, reliability, quality, safety, etc.in areas of responsibilityProvides other duties and responsibilities as required for the successful operation of businessAdheres to and promote applicable Policies, Procedures, Safety Rules & Regulations and Security Guidelines(This position will have access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls. U.S. person as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))We're thrilled to find candidates with:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Sciences, or related field3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace, additive or in a start up of DED environmentBasic understanding of additive manufacturing principles and exposure to Direct Energy Deposition (DED) technology is a plusFamiliarity with CAD/CAM software and design fundamentals and a willingness to learn and work with various software toolsInterest in supply chain management and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)Other competencies critical to success include:Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to experimental work and a willingness to learn and grow in the additive manufacturing fieldExcellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to project objectives in a team environmentEnthusiasm for working in a fast paced and innovative manufacturing settingEagerness to learn from experienced engineers and take on new challenges in the field of additive manufacturingAble to work independently in a structured manner, take initiative and complete processThe ability to read and apply Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Work and Work InstructionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including fluent mastery of the English LanguageWillingness to adhere to and promote the NTi values of glød, collaboration, creative curiosity, trust, respect, and integrityThis position will require access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
