Your role at Clorox:

As a Senior Accountant, you will have a crucial role in maintaining compliance with US GAAP and driving operational efficiencies. You will collaborate closely with different departments, such as Cleaning, Clorox Professional, and Corporate, as well as cross-functional teams in Legal and Finance. Your accounting expertise will not only influence our financial reporting but also contribute to the company's strategic decision-making, making you a highly valuable addition to our team.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze transactions to ensure compliance to US GAAP and complete monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for areas of responsibility

  • Provide accounting support (U.S. GAAP accounting guidance) to the business unit partners within the Finance organization, including research and recommendations on accounting issues as well as support the implementation of accounting and policy changes

  • Be responsible for the execution of various account analytics, including Working Capital, Cash Flows, and Corporate segment results

  • Support the Corporate litigation and environmental accounting reserves process

  • Perform variance analysis, analyze financial statements, and prepare total company roll-forward schedules and footnotes to support the External Reporting process

  • Drive process improvements by identifying and performing changes to be more effective and efficient, including using data and technology to unlock value

  • Provide support to internal and external audit activities including preparation of audit supporting schedules

  • Support the execution of internal controls over the process, including monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and quarterly financial statement certifications

  • Support projects and other ad hoc requests

What we look for:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.

  • Big 4 or public accounting experience is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification or CPA candidate.

  • Proven experience with SAP or ERP systems and processes.

  • Proficiency in using Power BI and Power Query for data analysis.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in US GAAP principles and reporting.

  • Exceptional analytical skills to effectively analyze complex financial data.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, consistently delivering reliable and accurate work.

  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload effectively.

  • Proactive and agile approach to problem-solving, taking ownership and ensuring timely resolution.

  • Ability to collaborate and build solid business relationships across functions.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a multifaceted and fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

–Zone A: $69,600 - $127,400

–Zone B: $63,800 - $116,800

–Zone C: $58,000 - $106,100

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
