Key Responsibilities:

Build and manage a high-performance team of 200+ Global R&D Engineering team passionate about developing outstanding, customer-delighting instruments for both the RUO and IVD markets that leverage AI/ML.

Recognizes and interprets emerging trends and provides strategic leadership and technical expertise to ensure the engineering strategy is aligned with short and long term Divisional and Group strategic vision.

Recognized as a KOL leader within and outside of R&D and uses their expertise across the Division and Group.

Sets the bar for how experimental data is used to impact the Product Development process and be accountable for Quality, Cost and Delivery of the product.

Uses technical and patent landscape knowledge to drive collaboration and opportunities to combine technologies.

Effectively collaborates with the cross-function division leaders to develop and complete new product Instrumentation roadmap and MGPP strategy, while maintaining budget requirements, meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Cultivate a culture of inclusion, diversity, collaboration, innovation, discovery, and innovative engineering culture focused on scientific excellence, open communication, and continual improvement.

Develop and mentor the team, upgrade capabilities, and recruit/retain outstanding talent

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MS/Ph.D. degree in an Engineering field or Applied Physics with 15+ years leading engineering project teams and developing and launching moderate complexity instrumentation for life science.

  • Track record of excellence and innovation as demonstrated by multiple platform launches of RUO and IVD instruments, thorough understanding of quality systems, patents, and Multi-Generational Project Planning (MGPP) execution

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for participating in a fast-paced environment characterized by rigorous science, engineering excellence, and innovative thinking

  • Significant experience leading global, multi-cultural, strong multi-disciplinary teams with demonstrated application of engineering principles to Life Science Instrumentation. Passionate about building great teams and great culture

  • Proven track record in influencing across the organization at all levels through direct leadership and functional partnerships.

  • Outstanding business strategy, financial competences, and analytical skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $241,700 - 362,525.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
