JOB SUMMARY:

The Supervisor, Radiation Oncology oversees daily operations of the Radiation Oncology Department, ensuring exceptional patient and physician satisfaction. Responsible for staff selection, development, and accountability, as well as achieving financial and service goals.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensures compliance with patient health, safety, and medical information regulations.

  • Supervises technical aspects of Radiation Oncology programs per hospital and regulatory standards.

  • Develops and implements approved departmental goals, budgets, and plans.

  • Maintains quality control programs for patient, staff, and equipment safety.

  • Reviews policies and ensures alignment with hospital philosophy.

  • Coordinates departmental activities with other hospital departments.

  • Manages staff hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

  • Reviews and recommends equipment and capital purchases.

  • Ensures proper maintenance of department records and prepares required reports.

  • Resolves operational issues affecting department efficiency.

  • Manages productivity and budget variances.

  • Ensures accurate documentation of patient services and revenue reconciliation.

  • Provides leadership, including planning, training, and performance management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES:

Education: Demonstrated leadership and management abilities that are normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree.

Licensure: Certified Radiation Technologist, Oncology Certification or RN license with Oncology experience. Must be certified in the State of Indiana. CPR certification.

Experience: 3 years experience working as a Radiation Technologist or Oncology RN, 2-3 years leadership experience preferred (Senior RT or management experience). Five to seven years of previous and progressively more responsible work-related experience in a supervisory role preferred.

Other Job Requirements:

Work requires the analytical ability necessary to design highly complex systems and programs, resolve problems requiring a comprehensive and state‑of‑the‑art awareness of the technology and literature in a professional, technical or scientific field, or develop financial and operating plans for a large department.
