The Position

The National Account Director (NAD), Payer Segment, will report to the Executive Director of National Payer Segment. The NAD leads all account management efforts with assigned Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) and National Health Plan accounts through the development of productive business relationships as well as profitable contracts and programs. Achieves desired formulary access and coverage decisions for the Company’s products. Identifies and addresses customer needs at multiple levels given the complexity of national accounts in order to generate solutions that enhance the partnership. Participates in the development of, as well as evaluates and proposes, strategic marketing initiatives to strengthen mutual business opportunities. Develops account-specific strategies and tactical plans to fully capitalize and develop the business. Assesses account performance and integrates pull-through activities with the Sales organization as well as other extended account team members to maximize appropriate utilization of the Company's products. Integrates Senior Leadership into the overall business relationship. Combines the National role with specific geographic responsibilities at the Regional and facility levels, as required. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities

  • Develops short-term and long-term strategic account plans for assigned accounts.

  • Develops and executes the negotiation strategy to achieve profitable product access for priority brands.

  • Ensures the pull-through of National Account access positions to the aligned regional accounts.

  • Leads extended sales team to meet to drive appropriate utilization and achieve net revenue objectives with assigned customers.

  • Delivers on Forecasted Net Sales across the portfolio through management for assigned accounts.

  • Conducts routine business reviews to inform internal stakeholders on relevant updates for assigned accounts.

  • Provides external insights to inform the organization’s profitable product access strategy.

  • Ensures proper diligence on policy, legal, regulatory, and company compliance issues.

  • Drives innovation to experiment and learn with novel customer and market strategies.

  • Demonstrate appropriate financial stewardship of expenses and use of company resources.

  • Embraces organizational culture consistent with the Company’s Cultural Tenets.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • Education: Minimum BA/BS.

  • Five plus years of managed care account manager or equivalent experience is required, previous large/strategic account management role desired.

  • Contracting Experience required.

  • Customer knowledge and/or national health plan knowledge.

  • Product/Disease Knowledge, with traditional chronic drug and specialty drug experience desired.

  • Problem Solving Skills.

  • Communication Skills with executive presence.

  • Strong Project Management with experience coordinating broad cross functional teams.

  • Presentation and consultative selling skills.

  • Demonstrated successful negotiation skills.

  • Conflict Resolution.

  • Strategic account planning.

  • Highly developed Leadership Skills.

  • Analytical Capabilities.

  • Working Knowledge: Managed Care Operations, Contracting Strategy, Healthcare Systems Structure and Function.

  • Health care trends and policies.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience contracting and/or working with our clients.

  • Broad understanding of US Health Care and product contracting environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with a broad range of leaders.

This position is fully remote, but the selected candidate must be willing to travel as needed. Travel will be dependent on business needs for the role.

The applicable salary range for this position in the U.S. is stated below. Benefits offered in the U.S. include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation and holiday time, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.

Annualized Salary Range (US)

$166,100.00 - $282,600.00
