Adient US LLC Development Chemist in Plymouth, Michigan

The Development Chemist will plan and execute laboratory projects to evaluate and qualify chemical options, including bench-scale, machine-scale, and plant-scale trials.  Develop chemistry to achieve desired physical property and processing performance. Fully document and communicate results of laboratory work to management.

 

Specific Duties:

  • Create chemical blends to evaluate in laboratory.
  • Perform chemical property testing including viscosity, water content, pH, refractive index, etc.
  • Perform reaction performance evaluation including rise profile, flow evaluation, cure analysis, etc.
  • Maintain working knowledge of current and future processing equipment.
  • Perform processing evaluations.
  • Summarize and analyze physical property results.
  • Compile project reports and present to management.
  • Travel to manufacturing locations as necessary.
  • Follow all EHS guidelines and participate in improvement activities.
  • Perform additional special projects or tasks as assigned by management.

     

Education:

MS in Chemistry, Polymers, or equivalent is required.

PhD is preferred.

 

Experience:

One to three years of experience within relative industry laboratory is required.
