Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer – Electrical Systems
Department: Engineering
Summary Utilizes engineering methodology to support program launch readiness, production planning and continuous improvement. Provides the necessary electrical and systems engineering knowledge, processing skills and technical support to the company to ensure Loc Performance achieves optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery to internal and external customer’s satisfaction. Works in teams to develop and implement new systems, including power distribution, control systems, automation systems, and process control systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Development, review, maintenance, and control of engineering documentation. Including TDP (Technical Data Package), Bill of Material, Process Flow / Routings, Floor Layouts, PFMEA, Equipment Lists, Tool / Fixture Lists, and Work Instructions to ensure high-quality production processes.
Support prototype development through build, integration, and testing activities.
Install and commission electrical systems, ensuring reliable operation.
Develop and administer electro-mechanical system testing and validation procedures and analyze results.
Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults, implement corrective actions, and repair existing systems to ensure that they meet production requirements.
Verify compliance with electrical codes and standards.
Provide support to estimating on quoting.
Develop and validate processes and processing times / standards.
Support lessons learned activities and implementation into quotes and standards.
Identification of tooling needs. Assistance in tool conceptualization.
Support manufacturing with process and document interpretation.
Identify and address opportunities to eliminate waste within the manufacturing process.
Participate in cost reduction efforts and support/implement continuous improvement activities.
Work with Quality and Production Departments to ensure validation checks are built into the process.
Support corrective actions as required.
Support Program Management in APQP activities, as well as project cost adherence.
Consult with customers, and provide expertise, to maximize the integrity, efficiency and manufacturability of designs on new and existing projects.
Provide floor support during trouble shooting activities
Assist with customer activities/support as requested
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
Competencies

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, models, drawings and technical specifications.
Extensive working knowledge of manufacturing practices in a diverse range of processes.
GD&T experience required.
Extensive knowledge of process flows, material flow, assistive tooling devices.
Project management experience preferred.
Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced and varying environment.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Proficiency in 3D modeling software preferred.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to apply problem solving tools and methodology to a variety of manufacturing and business process issues.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a four-year College or university and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
Experience developing and testing electro-mechanical systems is required.
Manufacturing process development and monitoring experience is highly desired.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
