Job Description

Robert Bosch LLC seeks Sr. Business Development Engineer (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 15000 Haggerty Road, Plymouth, Michigan 48170. Focus on acquisition activities for Parking (ultrasonic/video) products in North America for American vehicle manufacturers. Responsible for streamlining product and feature planning by aligning requirements, technical design, and product marketing to demonstrate Parking systems for North America vehicle manufacturers. Align strategies in the areas of product roadmap, benchmarking, demo readiness, feature planning and roll-out. Responsible for developing North American specific SW products such as trailering features and Surround view features for trailering. Business development engineering for Near Range Camera Systems to analyze customer requirements, develop solution concepts, system definitions, system architecture, and system specifications. Lead and drive all customer communication along with Sales and product management for new acquisitions and video product demonstrations. Define vehicle level impact based on requirements and facilitate demo readiness of video product features. Define and carry out the functionality testing based on prototype for proof of design concept, analyze testing result to evaluate functionality with support from engineering. Drive benchmarking activities. Actively participate in acquisition activities and develop cost and effort estimations. Support with trailering and trailering surround view development activities. Contribute to Hardware processes for productions start / handover to plant. Responsible for engineering processes of production such as electrical control unit, sensors, and cameras. REQS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of experience as a Hardware Engineer, Systems Engineer, Technical Project Manager, or other related occupation involving hardware development. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Establishing networks and contacts to efficiently and effectively coordinate technical and business-related activities to create new features, products, and business opportunities; (2) Communicating with customers and stakeholders regarding effort, cost, and technical feasibility of new business ideas and product features; (3) Vehicle architecture and vehicle communication (CAN, CAN FD, or Ethernet); (4) Technical interfaces required for automated or semi-automated driver assistance systems to connect and communicate with HMI, Odometry, Brake, Electronic Body Control and Steering modules; (5) Near range sensing systems such as ultrasonic and video based environmental perception including technical feasibilities and limitations on feature and functional levels; (6) Vehicle control unit failure management and data processing to diagnose issues on system and function levels; (7) Applying ISO26262 automotive safety as an industry standard to ensure functional safety; and (8) ADAS software and system architecture and best practices for ASPICE process standards to effectively and efficiently coordinate prototype or development activities in a large centralized and de-centralized team environment.
