Distinctive Floral Co. Greenhouse Technicians in Plymouth, Minnesota

Need 26 full time, temporary, seasonal Greenhouse Technicians to work in Plymouth, MN. FROM: 10/01/2024 - 05/31/2025 WORK: 40 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 8 hrs./day Overtime will be paid at 1.5 times the basic rate after 40 hours per week. Overtime hours may vary, depending on weather or other conditions, and will be paid no less than $27.75 per hour. Regular hours are 40 hours per week; 0-20 hours overtime. Shifts are 8 hours per day Monday through Sunday with two days off in 7 days with the exception of the two weeks immediately before Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. Normal work hours are 6:30 am to 6:30 pm with 8-10-hour shifts. Workers may be offered less work or be requested to work more hours on any given day, depending upon crop or weather conditions and/or market demand. Workers may be requested, but will not be required, to work as much as ten (10) hours per day or on the Sabbath and/or on Federal holidays. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. JOB DUTIES: Workers will execute production plans to produce high quality plants and flowers; harvest, process, plant, space and clear plants and flowers; manage canopy and pests; perform routine cleaning, inspection, lubrication, precision checks and other light maintenance tasks including replacements and repairs of facility and equipment; perform duties while meeting quality specifications and safety requirements; may operate forklift. Work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling, extensive walking, and frequent stooping. JOB REQUIREMENTS: No formal education or previous experience required. On-the-job training will be provided. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach, grasp. Must be able to lift and carry up to 52 pounds. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English or Spanish. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Perform basic math, such as ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and ability to adjust focus. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
