UnitedHealth Group Manager, Data Systems - Remote in Plymouth, Minnesota

Role involves oversight of our data architecture and integration services, including database management, HL-7 interfaces, and data warehouse/business intelligence development. Works closely with our Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE), enterprise reporting, and Epic application teams.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of analysts and database administrators to facilitate data processes, procedures, development and implementation. Responsible for leading the strategic design and maintenance of data systems. Identifies, researches, and resolves complex technical problems. Ensures that the use of data applications enhances business decision making capabilities

  • Manage both employed and contracted employees, including time approvals, resource allocations, performance management, career development, training and orientation

  • Vendor management including contract negotiations and financial monitoring

  • Project management responsibilities for small initiatives, aligning cross-functional teams to complete the overall goals of the initiative. Works with the PMO to follow appropriate standard operating procedures

  • Supports IT leadership with strategic and transformational planning

  • Promotes and identifies best practices and continuous improvements across the teams

  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures

  • Willingness to travel between various ProHealth Care sites for training and stakeholder meetings as needed

  • Other responsibilities as necessary to help maintain business needs

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with business intelligence and data warehousing concepts

  • Experience developing roadmaps and documenting strategic initiatives

  • Experience supporting HL7 interfaces, ServiceNow, and / or Sharepoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SQL, Oracle, Cache (Epic)

  • Familiar with both waterfall and agile development methodologies.

  • Proven solid communication skills necessary to effectively express ideas and influence others appropriately.

  • Proven ability to translate both business and technical concepts. Comfortable at giving and receiving feedback.

  • Proven solid time/project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and deliver a high capacity of output in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven big picture, solution oriented

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
