ST. JUDE MEDICAL BUSINESS SERVICES Senior Engineer, Cyber Security in Plymouth, Minnesota

SENIOR ENGINEER, CYBER SECURITY St. Jude Medical / St. Paul, MN and various and unanticipated work locations throughout the U.S. Optimize product/system security by creating and reviewing software architecture and detailed design solutions that reflect best practices. Identify and implement software improvements needed to effectively protect against and respond to known and emerging security threats. Apply knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including authentication, access control, authorization, logging, and cryptography . Perform threat modeling of complex connected system of systems and provide mitigatory strategies for reducing cybersecurity risk . Communicate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate interrelated security solutions and assure project completion. Write cybersecurity requirements, design, and risk management documentation . Conduct cybersecurity verification and validation activities using tools and techniques, including Nessus, Qualys, Splunk and/or Wireshark. . Perform vulnerability management, vulnerability intake, and be able to understand and report on emerging cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities to a cross-functional team. Interact with regulatory authorities and auditors, write technical explanations of cybersecurity features and controls for regulatory submissions. Apply knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPRs) and HIPAA/HITRUST. Conduct GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) Gap assessments and recommend solutions. Position may require work in various and unanticipated work locations throughout the U.S. Telecommunication is permissible. Bachelor s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology or in a related technical or engineering field of study with at least 6 years of related progressive professional experience in: (i) applying knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including authentication, access control, authorization, logging, and cryptography; (ii) performing threat modeling of complex connected system of systems and provide mitigatory strategies for reducing cybersecurity risk; (iii) writing cybersecurity requirements, design, and risk management documentation; (iv) cybersecurity verification and validation tools and techniques, including Nessus, Qualys, Splunk and/or Wireshark; (v) applying knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPRs) and HIPAA/HITRUST; and (vi) conducting GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) Gap assessments and recommending solutions.
