Agile and willing to take action, you stay calm under pressure. Your Team Baxter has long been on the forefront of developing innovative solutions for patients with kidney disease. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to directly improve the embedded software architecture & design, development, and support of features for Baxter's CRRT Devices that provides dialysis in an ICU environment. The desired candidate will possess validated "hands-on" technical abilities, an excitement and energy for product development, sustain a current line of software product portfolio, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients. What you'll be doing As a Senior Software Engineer you will fill a vital role in our organization, engineering software that will provide new therapies and new possibilities for our patients and care providers Developing critical care software on our state-of-the art Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy PrisMax device within an Agile (Scrum) framework Working with a real-time embedded software system utilizing Green Hills Integrity OS within a complex multi-therapy electro-mechanical device/platform Proposing design alternatives, developing excellent software requirements, creating and molding software design, implementing code and unit tests in C/C++, performing peer reviews, estimating work, writing design docume tation, and investigating high-priority field issues Working collaboratively with architects, other developers, testers, systems engineers and other cross-functional personnel to create the best solution possible What you'll bring An attitude of passion for patient care and safety Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in embedded software development Quality- and patient safety-oriented attitude and demonstrated proficiency in various software development lifecycle methodologies including Agile, Iterative, V-Model, etc within a regulated development environment Good experience with embedded software, design, development, test & integration, debugging techniques, and simulator usage Demonstrated experience performing many technological tasks including: Requirements engineering, use-case development Developing within a RTOS environment such as Green Hills Integrity or Wind River VxWorks Implementing maintainable, well-designed code in C++ and C Good Experience in analyzing sophisticated issues with memory / threading / performance. Ability to drive structured and methodological analysis for tough issues during development. Ability to communicate design decisions, inputs, and outputs, and convince management on courses of action using both written and verbal methods.
