Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Staff Business Development Representative to join our growing team of diverse professionals in our Missile Products (MP) Business Unit (BU). In this role, as part of the growth-oriented and customer-focused Missile Products Business Development team, will be responsible for utilizing processes for opportunities and pursuits organization that drives Market Segment growth in Fuzing and Warheads (F&W). In addition, this role will be responsible for delivering an extraordinary customer experience across our global customer environment and infusing our strategic focus and messaging into all elements of the customer engagement. This position will be based in Plymouth, MN or Rocket Center, WV and reports to the Fuzing and Warhead Operating Unit Business Development Director.

This position can be based at other locations with preference being Plymouth, MN and Rocket Center, WV.

Identifies and implements business development projects relating to new products and/or industries, technologies, or services. Identifies markets, licensing opportunities, and determines the feasibility of product development. Performs economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities and/or business models and coordinates with internal departments in identifying/implementing business development projects. May work with sales, marketing and potential customers to determine their needs. Develops and disseminates information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.

Responsibilities include leading a team to:

  • Be part a team of Business Development Professionals in the development and synthesis of a cohesive and executable Fuzing and Warhead Market Segment strategy that drives strategic growth

  • Lead the new business development opportunities and pursuits to define new business opportunities that drive annual and long-term growth for Fuzing and Warhead Market Segment

  • Utilize the new business capture process to drive growth to long range strategic plan (LRSP)

  • Provide proposal support to improve win rate for competitive capture

  • Responsible for the development of customer engagement and growth strategies that consider emerging markets, industries, and technologies

  • Perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities and/or business models

  • Customer Engagement - create, maintain and implement a customer engagement strategy and senior customer visit plan across domestic and international military, government, and industry leadership

  • Create and deliver an extraordinary customer experience with follow-up

  • Responsible for the accuracy and consistency of the Customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools (SalesForce) while following the process standards of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP)

  • Discretionary Investment Strategy & Management, to include Performance Tracking

  • Responsible for the fiscal management of the department’s budget

  • Collaborate with a team of fellow business development professionals; create a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline with a minimum of 12 years of Aerospace and/or Defense industry experience or Master’s degree in business or related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of Aerospace and/or Defense industry experience

  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 50% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in technical/business field

  • 12 years (or 10 years with Masters Degree) of industry experience in business development, capture leadership and/or program management

  • Demonstrated multi-disciplinary global business development, strategy development and capture experience

  • Demonstrated people leadership skills; direct and indirect leadership of large teams; ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Proven ability to provide independent critical assessments, that ultimately result in better outcomes for the enterprise

  • Proven highly effective executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills

  • Strategic planning, new business development, and investment planning

  • Strong customer domain knowledge and a proven track record of sustained business growth

  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance

Salary Range: $142,500 - $236,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
