Description Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Water Resources Scientist, to join our Water Resources team in our Plymouth office. As a Water Resources Scientist, you will conduct environmental investigations and inspections, surveys and monitoring, primarily in the areas related to chloride pollution, water resources, aquatic invasive species, and hydrogeology. Work may include coordinating scheduling of Smart Salting and other classes and assisting with development of classes and manuals and environmental education. We are looking for candidates who possess a high capacity for self-motivation and can apply scientific and water resource knowledge to a variety of projects. In addition, you must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies. What You Will Be Doing: Assists project managers and other staff on a variety of water resources projects Coordinates scheduling and assists in developing and conducting Smart Salting Trainings and salt symposia Provides water resources education for students, adults, municipal staff, or other stakeholders Participate in salt (chloride) reduction work including updating the internal Low Salt Library, and assisting with our work with incorporating Low Salt Solutions into Bolton & Menk work and client projects Performs field work, data organizing and analysis, and participates in report preparation May conduct SWPPP inspections Develops PowerPoint presentations, educational products and manuals, especially related to chloride reduction and aquatic invasive species prevention Conducts surveys and performs literature searches on various water resources related topics Prepares newsletter articles and other documents for client MS4 permit compliance May assist Natural Resources group with EAWs and other investigations May perform work related to climate change, resiliency, and sustainability What We Are Looking For: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, geology, environmental science, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university 0 - 3+ years' experience working on water resources related projects Preferred experience and/or knowledge of chlorides and chloride reduction strategies Works well as member of a team as well as independently Ability to complete work with minimal oversight Excellent communication skills and technical writing skills Experience reviewing data and literature for synthesis into environmental review documents or reports Experience managing data sets and evaluation of data Thorough knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) WHY BOLTON & MENK?
