Director of Advancement Strategy

Summary

The Director of Advancement Strategy will work effectively within the Advancement structure to develop new fundraising & advocacy campaigns and to ensure fundraising and organizational communications are executed with excellence. He/she will lead a team responsible for digital and print communications, public relations, social media, event communications,, direct marketing (print & digital), resource management, advocacy campaigns, Culture of Engagement and major donor communications support. The Director will work effectively with his/her peers in Partner Engagement & Partner Services to implement strategies that ensure our communications are on target and that every partner is well served. This position will focus on strengthening donor partner communication through the project management outcome-based process in anticipation of increased advocacy and fundraising initiatives.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other team members to design and implement strategies for the pursuit of various Advancement goals as directed by leadership.  The objectives and outcomes of Advancement are not separate from every team member's personal objectives but are owned by each person on the team. 

  • Work with other Directors to ensure all Advancement objectives are met.

  • Lead Sr. Strategist and Sr. Project Manager in developing and implementing fundraising and advocacy campaigns, ensuring they and their teams understand success and are resourced for it

  • Develop content and communications strategies across multiple mediums.

  • Implement fundraising and advocacy strategies and campaigns through effective strategy development and project management.

  • Developing resource strategies that provide necessary stories, updates and visual components.

  • Ensure excellent print and digital materials are developed to meet strategy and engagement goals.

  • Work with cross-functional teams on various marketing campaigns that fulfill ministry needs.

  • Initiate and care for OneHope partners through Culture of Engagement assignments, including partner meetings, events and prayer calls. Attend required trainings, report as needed in an appropriate manner, and fulfill all COE duties in a timely manner (approximately 20 hours per year)

    Other Skills and Abilities 

  • Possess strong character & be a person of integrity

  • 5-7 years experience in fundraising with a healthy theology of it

  • Empowering leader who guides team to success

  • Superior project management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • A self-starter able to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work in a complex, rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to provide feedback on artwork and design

  • Highly collaborative, feedback-oriented, and results-focused

  • Cross-culturally knowledgeable, aware, sensitive and adaptable

  • Creatively find solutions to issues in current projects and re-design them as needed

  • Fluency with M icrosoft Office, Dropbox, Basecamp, and other relevant platforms 

    Work Environment

  • Monday – Friday  (8a-5p) with some flexibility

  • Our work is international, however, and may require some flexibility to accommodate teams in different time zones.

  • Based in Florida Office

    Travel may be necessary at times.
