Survey and Mapping Internship - Summer 2025

KEITH is seeking a Survey and Mapping Intern to join us Summer of 2025 in our Pompano Beach, FL location to strengthen our growing firm. We are looking for positive individuals to fit our energetic culture.  As a Survey and Mapping Intern, you will work alongside experienced surveyors and field crews to gain hands-on experience in land surveying practices, equipment operation, and data collection techniques. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about surveying methods, tools, and software while contributing to real-world projects.

What you'll do: 

  • Assist the field crew in performing various land surveys and measurements under the supervision of experienced surveyors.

  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS units, levels, and other instruments used for data collection.

  • Participate in fieldwork activities, including setting up surveying equipment, taking accurate measurements, and recording data.

  • Assist in conducting topographic surveys, boundary surveys, construction layout surveys, and other related tasks as directed.

  • Learn to interpret survey plans, blueprints, and legal descriptions to ensure accurate data collection.

  • Aid in data processing and analysis using surveying software and tools under the guidance of senior staff.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure that equipment is properly cared for and stored.

The Ideal Intern is: 

  • Pursuing a degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in land surveying, geospatial technology, and construction-related disciplines.

  • Basic knowledge of surveying principles or coursework related to land surveying.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from senior surveyors.

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain, often carrying equipment.
